Quaternary Intermedia, launched in late 2022, is the publicity arm of the Quaternary Institute (2000) and its publishing arm Quaternary Imprint (2005). The Quaternary Institute, Quaternary Imprint and Quaternary Intermedia are based in the countryside near Stratford, Taranaki, New Zealand.
The role of Quaternary Intermedia is to publicise the plethora of unprecedented Quaternary investigations and insights by way of print and digital media for a post-Tertiary or Quaternary level of education and practice. The Quaternary program is commensurate with the previously unrecognised nature-based philosophy William Shakespeare articulates consistently and comprehensively in his 1609 Sonnets as the philosophic grounds for his 1623 Folio of thirty-six plays and his four longer poems.
The works of Shakespeare provide the inaugural resource for the Quaternary because only his works, and particularly the Sonnets, are capable of providing the sound philosophic and deeply evocative expression required to institute a Quaternary program and sensibility. A few thinkers who can be considered proto-quaternary have made specialised contributions toward such a sensibility but the philosophic achievement of their work has been limited to one or other facet of the complete nature-based philosophy available in Shakespeare's Sonnets, plays and poems.
The Quaternary Institute, Quaternary Imprint and Quaternary Intermedia Webpages establish a level of tuition in the Quaternary sensibility appropriate for a global constituency. The resources available on the Quaternary Institute Website, the publications from Quaternary Imprint and the presentations through Quaternary Intermedia formulate the conditions for a Quaternary level of learning as a natural step up for those, particularly doctoral graduates and professors, who realise they have reached the limit of Tertiary methodology.
The Quaternary Intermedia Webpages features Newspaper and Magazine Articles from 1972 to 2022, alongside Photographs and Videos of Artworks from the same period. Beginning in September 2022, and coinciding with the launch of Quaternary Intermedia, the QI Newsletter will present regular Interviews with Roger Peters by Journalist Bryan Vickery. The Interviews will cover both background material that led to the discovery of Shakespeare's nature-based Sonnet philosophy and then more detailed considerations of the consistency and comprehensiveness of the natural givens evident in his plays and poems that epitomise the philosophy.
